Michael Lohan Holds Press Conference After Lindsay's Taken to Jail

Never one to keep quiet during a Lohan family crisis, Michael Lohan, the father of the ever-so-troubled Lindsay Lohan held a press conference after his daughter's latest jail sentence.
As reported earlier the 24-year-old Machete star has been taken into custody without bail. Judge Elden Fox ordered her to go back to jail until Oct. 22 for violating her probation by failing her drug tests. (On Saturday, Lindsay tweeted, "Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.")
"Lindsay should have never ever had to face jail time, she should’ve been in rehab the whole time," Michael told reporters just moments after the ruling. The spotlight-happy pop also said he'd rather be the one "eating a balogna sandwich" in jail rather than his daughter.
According to E! earlier Friday morning Mr. Lohan, 50, (who, in spite of having a strained relationship with her, could be seen saying "I love you" to his daughter before she entered the courthouse) said this "is a wake-up call" for her. He also said he wants Lindsay to get back "on the right path."
He also said that Lindsay is not to be blamed for her actions (he argued the actress "doesn't know better"). Rather, he thinks his ex-wife Dina Lohan (who, ironically enough, has also said others are to blame for her daughter's struggles) and LiLo's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley are at fault.
"I feel Shawn and the people around Lindsay are responsible. They are destroying my daughter, and I am praying Dina finally gets on the same page as me," he said.
Lohan also thinks Lindsay partying unsupervised at New York Fashion Week was partially to blame for the predicament she's in now. How about owning up to Lindsay getting herself into this predicament, Mama and Papa Lohan? Just a thought.
